FAA Announces Steps to Address Issues Raised in Safety Review

The agency seeks to improve air traffic controller training and retention.

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) recently released action steps to address America’s shortage of air traffic controllers.

A report released by the National Airspace System Safety Review Team found that a number of FAA internal processes hindered the training and retention of air traffic controllers in the airline industry. The FAA committed to implement a year-round hiring and promotion track for controllers and partner with training facilities nationwide to support and expand the time and resources available for controller training.

“Aviation is safe because we are continuously looking for ways to improve,” said FAA Administrator Mike Whitaker. “The independent safety review team made some excellent recommendations and we are adopting some of them immediately.”

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For Administrator Whitaker to receive God’s wisdom as he leads the FAA.
  • For the Lord to work through Secretary Buttigieg as he leads the Transportation Department.
  • For the safety of all the Americans who are traveling this holiday season.
